This is a Real Story
Man Recovering After Being Shot By His Dog
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 24, 2008
(AP) A man who was accidentally shot by a 12-gauge shotgun on Saturday after his dog jumped into a boat is recovering. Matthew Marcum's legs and buttocks were injured in the bizarre incident and he was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center in Portland.
Marcum's father, Henry, said his 23-year-old son was about to tie up an 11-foot open aluminum boat, when his 3-year-old Labrador, Drake, jumped into the boat.
Matthew Marcum said his dog, Drake, is a good dog and he isn't upset with him.

All he wanted was to be a ninja that year.

One More Thing....
I know, I know, but I have to say this.
Did you see Michelle Obama's dress?
I think a very pissed off republican dressed her.

November 4, 2008 Plus One
Aren't you glad it's over? I am. I'm tired of the uncertainty. I'm tired of the accusations, the finger pointing, the half-truths from all sides.
Barak Obama is now my president, and as I hope that others will have respect for the office and the person who occupies it, I will do the same. In 1998, I shook Al Gore's hand, and although I disagreed heartily with his political views and his ecological opinions (and the claims he made about the internet and "Love Story"), I was tickled pink to be shaking the hand of the Vice President of the United States. I don't agree with the policies of this administration, but I pray that we will all be able to work together to bring ths country back together again. I am thrilled that America has elected it's first african-american president; I'd be happier if he were a conservative. Obama has shattered a ceiling, and I'm hoping that his journey will be an encouragement to young people all over, of all races, to pursue education, work hard, and you can achieve wonderful things. I do wish that his grandmother had lived to see him elected.
The republicans had a wake up call in 2006, and chose to ignore it. They promised change, but did not deliver. We, their constituents, let them get away with it. We're all a party to our loss last night. As I told both Max and Maggie, if you don't like it, get involved in the next one and do something about it.
I hope that God does bless America. We need it.
As for me, I'm going to turn the tv off for awhile. Need a break from politics.

Happy Election Day
Pins and needles.
I'm either going to be saying "I told you so" or "thank God"; hopefully we'll have an outcome in a few days.

Captain Success - Today's Story
HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) - An 18-year-old Hayden, Idaho, man was arrested late last week after allegedly stabbing his mother when she forbid him to use an Internet social networking site MySpace. The teen was charged in 1st District Court with aggravated assault after his mother said he cut her wrist.
The mother said she confronted her 6-foot 2-inch tall, 320-pound son, after which he became aggravated and packed his belongings to leave their home.
Police said he pulled out a black and silver knife from his pocket as she tried to take his cellular telephone charger from him and cut her on the left wrist.
The teen then rode his bicycle to a location nearby, where he was later detained by police without further incident.
He was released from Kootenai County Jail on Monday.

Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Florida Edition
Florida is such a special state....
LAND O' LAKES, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- A nudist community on
Florida's west coast wants to be allowed a clothing-optional polling
site. The Caliente Resorts, located in Pasco County north of Tampa, has approached
election officials about the idea. Nothing in state law would
prohibit it, but the supervisor of elections says he is opposed to creating any
new precincts before redistricting in 2010.
Now, I can see why these people need their own polling site on election day; they are just so damn busy! Tuesdays and Thursdays, especially.
